How and when do I get paid?
Owners pay when you accept. The money is held by SPAKCY and released to your bank account (IBAN) 24 hours after each stay ends. Most banks in Cyprus show it within 1–2 working days.
Do I need to be self-employed?
Occasional sitting can start without registration, but if it becomes regular income you should register as self-employed with Social Insurance and declare it with the Tax Department. Your SPAKCY tax statement lists every payout to make that easy.
Can I decline a booking?
Always. You choose which requests to accept. Declining doesn’t affect your ranking — not replying within 24 hours does.
What if a pet gets sick in my care?
Owners authorise emergency vet visits at booking. You take the pet to the nearest vet, send us the receipt and we reimburse you within 3 working days, then settle with the owner.
I’m not an EU citizen. Can I apply?
Yes, if you live in Cyprus legally — a residence permit, temporary protection or a pink slip plus proof of address is enough.
